What Is The Business Fix Junk Journal? It’s a junk journal built specifically for female business owners who want something diagnostic, creative and completely different from every standard planner and notebook currently on the market. If you’ve ever looked at a business planner and felt nothing – no excitement, no urge to pick it up – this post is for you.

Most business journals look the same. Clean pages, neat boxes, identical prompts asking you to set your daily to dos and your quarterly goals, and rate your productivity on a scale of one to ten. They’re fine. They’re also deeply uninspiring, and if you’re the kind of woman who has a creative streak running through everything she does, those types of journals probably sit on your shelf looking virtuous and gathering dust.

I know because I was that woman. I’ve even built business journals and sold them in the past. They were very similar to every other non creative journal out there. Gah.

I love junk journalling.

I love the aesthetic of it, the flamboyancy of it, the way it lets you rip and stick and layer and make something that is entirely yours that looks like nothing else.

There’s something deeply satisfying about working with your hands, choosing materials, building pages that feel alive, rather than filling in pre-printed boxes.

Even as a business fixer, I run a business that needs its own fixes, monitoring, diagnosing, and reflecting on regularly.

These two things – the creative practice and the business work – kept sitting in separate corners of my life. The Business Fix Journal is what happened when I decided to put them in the same room.

What is a junk journal

If you’re new to junk journalling, a junk journal is a handmade book – often built from repurposed or vintage materials, and filled with pockets, envelopes, torn paper, handwritten notes, stickers, washi tape and whatever else calls to you.

There are no rules. There is no right way. The imperfect lettering and the frayed edges are not mistakes – they are the point.

Junk journalling has its own enormous, passionate community. People build them as creative projects, as memory books, as artistic outlets. They are collected, gifted, sold.

Nobody, until now, has been using one as a business builder and diagnostic tool.

What makes the Business Fix Journal different

There are two types of business journaling content out there right now.

The first is the business planner – structured, clinical, identical, designed to look professional on a desk and prompt the same generic goal-setting questions every month. Nothing wrong with them. They just don’t make you want to sit down with a cup of tea and actually use them, and have fun doing so.

The second is the junk journal community – wildly creative, beautiful, tactile, deeply satisfying to make. Almost entirely disconnected from business. The content is about the making, the aesthetics, the materials. Which is wonderful. But it doesn’t help you figure out why your sales went quiet in March.

The Business Fix Junk Journal sits in the gap between those two things. It’s diagnostic in what it does – it helps you see what’s working, what is not, where the money is going, where the gaps are – but it delivers that through the medium of a junk journal.

That means whilst building your business you get to have fun with ripped paper. Envelopes. Pockets. Handwriting. Stickers. Vintage ephemera. Things that make you want to pick your journal up and make it part of your daily business life.

I’ve created The Business Fix junk journal for myself. And Also for other female business owners to use.

I have prompts that ask what happened, what worked, what was avoided, what a client said. They’re all designed to help you create a journey for your business, whilst also helping you diagnose and grow your business at the same time.

And there’s no set artistic layout or ability needed. This is a Business Fix Journal for you. To use. So that you start to see the gaps that become visible to you in your own handwriting, your own creativity, without anyone having to point at it, and at the same time building a record of your business journey in a fun and brilliantly creative way.

What mY BUSINESS FIX JUNK JOURNAL looks like

My own Business Fix Junk Journal is vintage inspired – I use lots of stickers, envelopes, ripped paper, with my own handwriting running through everything. There’s no hard and fast rule. I create what I feel like creating. 

Some pages are layered and busy. Others are simple. The whole point is that it’s mine, it reflects how I think and how I work, and no two people’s junk journals will ever look the same.

My Business Fix Junk Journal opens with a sealed letter to my future CEO self – written on 1st August 2026, not to be opened until 1st August 2027.

Every month in my journal has a chapter-start page, a regular three-page collection spread where I log income, wins, laughs, treats and the best moment of the month as it happens, and then each that month there’s a themed diagnostic module – the part that actually digs into the business. This system is the one I share with other female business owners, so they can follow the structure too.

In month one of my junk journal, the diagnostic is the Sassy Sally Sales Rescue. That’s starting with the hard but most important stuff – how to make more sales and get more money in the bank in our businesses.

Why I built this – and who it is for

I built The Business Fix Junk Journal because I wanted to combine two things I love – creativity and business – in a way that nobody else is doing.

I wanted something that would genuinely help female business owners get clarity on what’s happening in their business, without it feeling like homework. 

This junk journal is something you’ll look forward to sitting down with. Something that makes you feel like yourself while you’re doing it.
